TOTAL TERMINAL INTERNATIONAL ALGECIRAS, S.A.
Total Terminal International Algeciras S.A. (TTI ALGECIRAS) is one of the two container terminals operating in the Port of Algeciras Bay. The concession, awarded by the Port in July 2008, is located on the Phase A plot of the Isla Verde Exterior expansion area.
Settled on the South of Spain – a strategic point in the Strait of Gibraltar – the common user terminal counts with a concession area of 300,119 sqm, 57,621 sqm of public maneuvering zone and two quay lines of 850 meters on the East and 550 meters on the North, with a draught of 18.5 and 17.5 meters respectively.
Total Terminal International Algeciras S.A. (TTI ALGECIRAS) is one of the two container terminals operating in the Port of Algeciras Bay and holds Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status. The terminal operates in line with internationally recognised ISO standards, reflecting a strong commitment to quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
The concession, awarded in July 2008, is located in Phase A of the Isla Verde Exterior expansion area, at the strategic gateway between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Operating over 300,119 m², complemented by a 57,621 m² public manoeuvring area, the terminal features two quay lines (850 m and 550 m) with draughts of 18.5 m and 17.5 m, enabling the handling of the world’s largest container vessels.
Since commencing operations in 2010, TTI ALGECIRAS has been Southern Europe’s and the Mediterranean’s first semi-automated container terminal, with a design capacity of up to 1.6 million TEUs per year. The terminal is currently in the project phase to expand its capacity by an additional 0.5 million TEUs, reinforcing its role as a key hub for mainline and transhipment services.
The terminal is fully equipped to serve Ultra Large Container Vessels, operating 5 Malaccamax and 3 Super Post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes, supported by 32 automatic stacking cranes and 23 shuttle carriers.
Since 2021, TTI ALGECIRAS has been jointly owned by HT Algeciras Co. Ltd., wholly owned by HMM (holding 50% + 1 share), and Isla Verde Algeciras Terminal Holding, S.L. (holding 50% – 1 share), wholly owned by CMA CGM Group. This shareholder structure brings together two leading global shipping groups, reinforcing the terminal’s international connectivity and long-term strategic vision.
